In January 2026, the opening of Elm Tree Gardens represented more than just the completion of a project; it marked the beginning of a new chapter for specialist care. Developed in partnership with Humber and North Yorkshire ICB and 54North Homes. This facility was born from a simple yet powerful mission: to create a space where individuals with complex needs don’t just reside, but truly live.
The challenge was clear: how do we provide a high-security environment for those with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Neurodivergent needs without it feeling clinical? The answer lies in the design of four bespoke bungalows. These aren’t standard units; they are homes equipped with “all mod cons,” including sustainable heat source pumps that ensure a comfortable, consistent environment regardless of the weather.

Care at Elm Tree Gardens is never a “one size fits all” model. Each resident is supported by a core team of staff on a dedicated rota, ensuring that the faces they see every day are familiar and trusted.
Looking toward the future, the vision for this site goes beyond clinical outcomes. We are already planning for a community filled with life, from summer BBQs and garden parties to festive Christmas celebrations. It isn’t just about providing “specialist care”; it’s about creating a home where every individual has the opportunity to thrive, belong, and celebrate life’s milestones.
