Job description

Job Title: Healthcare Assistant

Location: SE26 – Sydenham in South East London

Rate of Pay: £16.37 per hour

Shifts: Days and Nights, 3-4 shifts per week (mixture of shifts including weekends)

Contract Type: Full-time

Specialism: Complex Care (Spinal Cord Injury & Diabetes Care)

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a gentleman with a spinal cord injury in his own home. This is a fulfilling and dynamic role offering the opportunity to learn new skills and build a meaningful care relationship.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Diabetes Care: Blood glucose monitoring and administration

  • Specialised Care: Bowel care and urine care management

  • Clinical Monitoring: Autonomic Dysreflexia (AD) monitoring and tissue viability care

  • Personal and pressure area care

  • Supporting daily routines and emotional wellbeing

You’ll receive full training and undertake shadow shifts to ensure you feel confident and well prepared.

Key Requirements

  • Non-driver accepted

  • 6months mandatory experience with complex care, specifically Diabetes and Spinal Cord Injury

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Valid Children and Adult Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)

  • Up-to-date CV with full work history
