Rate of Pay: £14.00 per hour
Shifts: 3 shifts per week | 09:00 – 17:30 | Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

As a Support Worker with Sugarman Health & Wellbeing, you will provide meaningful practical help, emotional encouragement, and social connection, empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives both at home and in the wider community.
For this rewarding role, you will be supporting a vibrant, creative woman in her early 40s living in her family home. Following a history of a brain tumor, she experiences cognitive impairment and short-term memory loss. She is looking for an energetic, respectful female support worker who will act as a true companion and share in her passion for an active lifestyle.

Companion-Led Support: Build a positive, empowering, adult-to-adult relationship while accompanying the client on outings to the gym, local pool, and favorite restaurants.
Daily Living & Engagement: Assist with preparing nutritious family meals, engaging in creative arts and crafts, and supporting her active lifestyle.
Cognitive & Emotional Support: Provide gentle, empathetic guidance for short-term memory lapses and offer sensitive, discreet support for low mood and depression.
Safety & Supervision: Accompany the client on enjoyable daily walks (approx. 1 hour) to promote health and wellbeing, providing mindful supervision near roads due to mild gait and balance difficulties.
Health Monitoring: Maintain gentle oversight of her health needs, including diet-controlled Type 2 diabetes and ongoing treatments (such as TrueBeam radiotherapy).
Record Keeping: Maintain clear, accurate daily notes and communicate closely with the management team while respecting the client’s privacy and independence.

Driver Status: Must hold a valid UK driving license to commute to shifts (driving the client’s vehicle is not required; non-essential).
Experience: Minimum 6 months of professional care experience. (Experience supporting individuals with brain injuries, cognitive impairments, or mental health needs is highly advantageous).

DBS Check: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
