Sugarman is a specialist in spinal injury care, dedicated to providing care and support for Service Users with spinal cord injuries. Our team is equipped with the knowledge and expertise to provide personalised care plans, rehabilitation programs, and assistance to help Service users regain independence and improve their overall quality of life.

Airway Management

We specialise in delivering exceptional airway management services tailored to diverse Service User requirements. Our skilled team responds swiftly to acute airway challenges, employing evidence-based techniques and protocols. We offer expert ventilation support, including both invasive (mechanical ventilation) and non-invasive methods (such as CPAP and BiPAP). We also provide specialised care including tracheostomy tube management, nebuliser therapy, cough assist therapy, oxygen administration, saturation monitoring, and suctioning.

Skin Integrity

At Sugarman, we excel in comprehensive care for Service Users with diverse needs including skin integrity care. Our skilled professionals address skin-related issues, preventing complications and promoting healing. We provide tailored interventions for pressure ulcers, wounds, and dermatological conditions.

Continence Care

We offer expert care for Service Users requiring suprapubic and indwelling catheters. Our skilled team ensures proper catheter insertion, maintenance, and prevention of complications. Our experienced staff performs bladder washouts when indicated, promoting urinary system health and preventing infections. We provide tailored solutions for Service Users using penile sheaths. Our approach emphasizes comfort, hygiene, and skin integrity.

Neurological Conditions

We support a wide range of neurological conditions, and our experience has helped us to create a process of care planning and training which ensures that the care our Service User's receive is truly person-specific and tailored to their condition, care needs and management. ​

We have a very extensive suite of training which we add to regularly. It is important to understand the baseline of a condition or care need but what is more important is how this specifically affects our individual, how best we can support them with this, any mitigation and/or treatment.

Acquired Brain Injury

Our staff within this field are experienced at all levels of support and they particularly appreciate that the primary steps in establishing a care plan will be the foundation of a service user’s future quality of life. Our staff and Healthcare Assistants fully understand a service user’s previous routine, lifestyle and aspirations, and evaluate their level of ability combined with their medical needs. We encourage an exclusive plan informed by assessment and the latest research; thus, we are aware that brain damage can cause a wide range of problems and as a result, the timing and quality of rehabilitation is extremely important.

Pediatrics

We provide high-quality paediatric homecare for children of all ages in their home environment, allowing children to always be as comfortable as possible. Our services for children and young people with complex clinical conditions are centred around the specific needs of the child and the family. Our paediatric Healthcare Assistants and Registered Nurses provide quality and caring support for the children they care for, as well as the families.

Seizure Management

At Sugarman, we specialise in comprehensive epilepsy care and effective seizure management. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals living with epilepsy by providing personalised, evidence-based solutions. Our experienced professionals are trained in emergency situations and able to administer buccal rescue medication or VNS therapy if needed.

Nutritional Management

We deliver comprehensive care for Service Users with diverse nutritional needs, including those requiring enteral feeding. We offer expert management of nasogastric (NG), gastrostomy (PEG) and jejunostomy (PEJ) tubes. Our skilled team ensures safe and effective enteral nutrition delivery and medication administration through these devices.

Medication

We place a strong emphasis on safe and efficient medication administration. Our care team ensures accuracy and Service User safety throughout the process. We strictly follow evidence-based protocols, including the essential “rights” of medication administration. Our trained professionals administer medications via various routes including oral, transdermal, sublingual, nasal, buccal, enteral and rectal.
